La Mirande wine estate is located in the village of Castelnau de Guers, not far away from Pézenas. Founded in the 1850s, its origins would date back to the Early Middle Ages. Its name would come from the word “Mirador” meaning a high localisation, which is confirmed by the geography of the domain, offering unobstructed views over the Mediterranean, the Thau lagoon, and Mounts Saint Clair in Sète and Saint Loup in Agde. Joseph Albajan has made his estate and wines a reference in Languedoc’s wine growing world. Acknowledged several times during wine contests, the wines of la Mirande are not only rated among the best Picpoul de Pinet wines in France but also in Europe.
