The ciné-concert was born of an original concept: to recreate the soundtrack of a live cartoon.
It takes us to Hollywwod, in the midst of the creative ferment of the 1920s-1930s, in the then burgeoning world of animation.
Cartoons by Walt Disney, Tex Avery and Ub Iwerks, as well as characters such as Betty Boop and Felix the Cat, are projected onto the screen.
On stage, an actress and musician dub the animations live! They perform everything before your very eyes: the music (piano, vocals, percussion) and the characters’ voices (mumbled, English, French.) The cartoons come to life!
