Have you ever seen falcon chicks?

In the heart of the pretty medieval village of St-Pons-de-Mauchiens, between vineyards and garrigues, you’ll discover a colony of kestrel falcons: a small, migratory, sociable and very rare bird of prey.
In fact, around a hundred pairs nest, protected by the inhabitants, under the roofs of the houses in this magnificent medieval circulade. The architecture of the houses and the natural environment offer them an ideal place to breed and raise their falcon chicks! The falcons take advantage of this stopover to teach their falcon chicks to leave the nest, fly and feed before their long journey to Senegal.

Throughout the tour, a guide will help you to observe and understand the behavior and habits of these little falcons in the heart of their natural environment. You’ll also learn about the birdwatcher’s activities.

A unique phenomenon in France, highly recommended for children and families!

A local speaker will tell you all about the history of this pretty medieval village, which is well worth a visit!
