VISITE GUIDEE DE PEZENAS : LE THEATRE ET SON QUARTIER
PEZENAS
Programme
From the 16th century, the city, cramped in its old enclosure, took its ease in the new enclosure, under the impulse of Henri 1st of Montmorency. He favored the construction of remarkable private mansions. Very pious, he also encouraged the installation of convents in these new districts. This visit, commented by a guide-lecturer, will be, among other things, an opportunity to discover two jewels of the heritage: the theater installed in the former chapel of the Pénitents Noirs and the Sainte-Ursule church with its remarkable altarpiece.
