The Grande Maïre natural site stretches between the Canal du Midi and the sea, over 400 hectares, and immerses us in an environment similar to that of the Camargue, a mosaic of natural environments: dunes, lagoons, salt meadows, reed beds… populated by birds, horses and bulls bred at the Grand Salan manade. To be discovered by 3 discovery trails. Guided tour in July and August.

The natural site of the Grande Maïre extends between the Canal du Midi and the sea, over 400 hectares, and plunges us into an environment close to that of the Camargue, a mosaic of natural environments: dunes, lagoons, salt meadows, reedbeds… populated with birds, horses and bulls raised at the manade of Grand Salan.

– 3 discovery trails (2.5 km – 9 km and 11 km) allow you to explore, on foot or by bike, this vast, peaceful and wild wetland. Guide available at the Tourist Office.

– In summer, a nature guide will lead you along the paths to discover the exceptional biodiversity of the Grande Maïre. Every Wednesday during the summer, starting at 6:00 pm, discover the Grande Maïre during the guided tours offered by a coast guard.
Reservations are required online or in the Tourist Information Offices
Meet at the observatory of the Rivièrette (next to the traffic circle of the West beach)
