Located in the heart of the Hérault department, Adissan is the birthplace of Clairette du Languedoc. Produced from a single grape variety, clairette blanche, it has been classified as an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée since 1948.
Recent archaeological discoveries suggest that this wine has been produced since ancient times. Benefiting from a dry, sunny Mediterranean climate, the Adissan terroir has developed on Villafranchian terraces, made up of quartz pebbles, flint and limestone.
The cooperative winery, founded in 1928, produces clairette as a dry, sweet, rancio and liqueur wine.
