Unique and atypical, this cove carved out by the sea shelters a small beach of black sand where the turquoise-blue water contrasts with the dark colours of the volcanic cliffs formed by terrestrial and submarine eruptions dating back 750,000 years, at the southern end of the Auvergne puys chain. The “Deux Frères” rocks add to the scenery.

Pedestrian access and traffic on the Grande Conque beach are temporarily prohibited for your safety. However, the Allée de la Conque along this exceptional natural site offers a superb view of the beach.
