American-born David Ellis is a visual artist, photographer and filmmaker. His films have been seen all over the world and have often won awards. Today, he lives and works in Pézenas. His studio is located in the heart of the historic center.

Uncover the old, discover the new. A new meaning to discover.
Using vintage paper ephemera, photographs, objects, book pages, personal sketches and found materials, remarkable collages are created on old, open book covers long forgotten on the dusty shelves of flea markets and garage sales.
The covers of these recycled old books now conceal new stories. Each book cover once contained a literary tale or informative content valuable to its time. Old stories become new stories, discovered and rediscovered, reborn to life, stories that the viewer can create.
