1942, faced with the Allies in North Africa, Hitler ordered the end of the Demarcation Line and the construction of the Mediterranean Wall. Of the hundred or so bunkers built in Agde, 30 bunkers remain in La Tamarissière, a possible Allied landing zone.
Bunker 638, a German field hospital of 200 m² is dedicated to the care of wounded soldiers in case of attack. You will discover both a complex war building, but also an exhibition on the major themes of the conflict, in a local version: the German organisation and the construction of the bunkers, the life of the people of Agatha under the occupation, or the stages of the reopening and restoration.
Bunker 610 was the command post of the Tamarissière battery. It will be open to visitors from 8 May.

Explanatory panels with the specifications of the thirty or so bunkers on the site are also in place.
On special weekends: presentations of camps, military vehicles and characters in period dress.

Pedestrian signposting from the Antoine Groignard seafront car park.
Duration of the visit: 40 min
