The Plateau des Mègeries in Bessan, Hérault, is a 33-hectare Natura 2000 site where vines, crops and wasteland coexist. It is home to protected bird species such as the Little Bustard and the Red-legged Partridge, as well as temporary Mediterranean ponds, promoting local biodiversity and the presence of heritage plant species. Management actions, including sheep grazing, are carried out to maintain open habitats favorable to the Little Bustard and other species of lowland farmland fauna. Guided tours of the site are organized as part of the Fête de la Nature.
