The estate is located in Caux, near Pézenas. The vines are planted on the top of hills, surrounded by holm oaks, white oaks, junipers and rock-roses of Montpellier. Its is a very well drained Villafranchian (pliocene) soil, but not naturally rich. The gravel-sand mixture and basalt stones enrich the wines in complex acids.

It is a Villafranchian (pliocene) soil very well drained, but naturally not rich/fertile. The gravel-sand mixture and basalt stones enrich the wines in complex acids. Jean-Pierre Vanel, who, since his first vintage in 1998, adapts his cultivation management and his wine making methods, wishes to express a terroir and to add value to the environment.
