EXHIBITION OF RELIGIOUS ART AND TREASURY AT SAINT-JEAN’S COLLEGIATE CHURCH
PEZENAS
Museums
The treasury of the collegiate church of Saint John was set up in the former chapter house. It is defined as the “museum” place created within the religious sanctuary and by the objects that compose it. It was conceived in 1994 on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture. Its originality is undoubtedly due to the variety of the works presented, showing the diversity of the liturgical tableware and associating prestigious works with more modest objects, reflecting two centuries of creation. The objects are presented in 7 showcases which allow to discover them in their cultural, historical and artistic dimension. The last one is reserved to the regional silverware.
