In her studio in Agde, Agnès Descamps offers original painted and sculpted works. These include canvases, bas-reliefs and steel sculptures of various sizes, suitable for both indoor and outdoor display.

Born in 1962 in Belfort, Agnès Descamps studied at the Mulhouse School of Fine Arts, where she graduated in 1988 from the ‘Structure and Object’ department with honours.
After gaining experience in various fields—including furniture and object design, graphic design and teaching—she joined the Maison des Artistes in 1989 and began her career as a visual artist. From an abstract style where fluid forms and straight lines seek each other out and find balance in muted compositions, she gradually evolved in the late 1990s towards a more figurative approach where bodily forms assert themselves, giving rise to spaces and intertwining forms.

This artistic direction, which she has been developing and refining for several years using materials such as stone and bronze, now finds its full expression in silhouettes crafted from Plexiglas or cut metal.
Agnès Descamps reinterprets the great classics of art history through her refined ‘silhouette’ sculptures, where a subtle balance of solids and voids resonates with our memory.

Several of her painted or sculpted works have been acquired by collectors or local authorities, whilst her tableware designs have won over numerous companies in France and abroad.
In 2014, she opened a second studio in Agde and now divides her creative time between the east and the south... A contrast that is not to her displeasure.
