This forest of pines and tamarisks has given its name to the village at its feet : La Tamarissière. It was planted at the end of the XVIIIth century to fight against the silting of the Hérault and its estuary. This maritime pine forest is classed as natural heritage. The walking area under the tall pines, between sea, river and reed beds of Le Clôt, is also the realm of the squirrels. From June to September a part of the forest is reserved for camping ("Camping de La Tamarissière").
