Agde, 2600 years of history
Discover the " black pearl of the Mediterranean "
Agde is one of the oldest cities in France : it began with a Greek settlement founded in 540 BC by the Phocaeans. The many buildings made up of the volcanic rock basalt have brought about a unique architecture and a maze of timeless alleys at the foot of the Mont Saint-Loup, which marks the southernmost end of the Auvergne volcano chain.
